Cabo
Cabo St. Lucas is a major tourist destination on Mexico's Pacific coast. Not surprisingly the main attraction for most people are the beaches. However there is far more than just that to the town. The area is famous for its world class fishing, and the desert located nearby offers a number of non-water related activities. The area is sunny and warm all year round, although there can be some heavy rain showers during the summer. But really there is no bad time to visit Cabo.
For most people the main attraction of Cabo is the beaches, they are world class. Although the beaches around the town are usually pretty crowded there are plenty of beaches that area virtually deserted. Depending on your preference you can enjoy the solitude on a quiet beach on your own or you can socialize on the main beach. Of course where there are beaches there are water sports. Both scuba and snorkelling are popular activities in Cabo. You can also enjoy a wide range of other water activities like water skiing, wind surfing or even whale watching. Basically if you can do it in the water you can do it in Cabo.
Cabo is also famous for its fishing; the area attracts thousands of fishermen every year. There are a wide variety of fish available to be caught from marlin to tuna to sailfish. The fishing is so good that there are a number of fishing tournaments held in the area each year. They attract some of the world's best fishermen. You don't need to be an expert, or even have any experience to enjoy fishing in Cabo. There are a number of companies who can make all of the arrangements and supply the necessary equipment if you want to give it a try. Interestingly fly fishing has started to become very popular in Cabo in recent years, something else you may want to give a try.
There are a lot of things that you can do out of the water in Cabo as well. The area is surrounded by desert so that makes things like ATV riding a popular activity. Also popular is horseback riding and golfing. The area is home to six world class golf courses and they are very popular attractions.
For the visitors who would like to learn more about the local culture rather than just lie on the beach all day there are a number of opportunities to do that as well. There are a number of small towns located nearby that can be visited fairly easily. Also located in the town is a glass making shop that you can visit. The area around Cabo has been the glass making center of Mexico for hundreds of years. The shop still makes glass in the traditional way giving visitors to see how it was done. It is quite a site to watch glass get blown right in front of your face.
